Aratani・Fay is a collaborative design studio by Ayako Aratani and Evan Fay, based in Pontiac, MI USA. Both received an MFA in 3D design at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016 and founded the studio shortly after their graduation. The duo shares a studio and workshop, collaborating on projects and exhibiting together. Past exhibitions include a solo show at Salon Gallery in Boston, Architectural Design Digest Show in NYC, Salone Satellite in Milan, Collective Design in NYC, Interior Design Show in Toronto.
Together they craft furniture pieces by hand that embody metaphors going beyond the boundary of function.

Fay is an American designer born in Traverse City, MI. He received a BFA in 2014 from Kendall College of Art and Design while studying furniture design, and an MFA in 2016 as a student of the 3D design department at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Aratani is a designer/maker born and raised in Japan. In 2016 she completed her MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art in the 3D design department and in 2007 she graduated from Chiba University with a BE in Product Design.
